Who we are
Kingside Digital ("we", "us") is a web design, development and digital marketing studio based in Grimsby, North East Lincolnshire, United Kingdom. We are the controller of the personal information described in this policy.
If you have any questions about this policy or your information, email callum@kingside.digital.
Information we collect
When you contact us. If you fill in our project form or email us, we receive the details you give us: your name, email address, company name, industry, the services you're interested in, your budget range, your message and how you heard about us.
When you visit the website. Like any website, our hosting provider automatically processes basic technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, so the site can be delivered and kept secure.
When we work together. If you become a client, we keep the contact and project details needed to deliver our services and to invoice you.
How we use it and our lawful basis
Under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018) we must have a lawful basis for using your information. We use it:
- to reply to your enquiry and discuss a possible project, because you've asked us to and it's needed before entering into a contract;
- to deliver the work we've agreed with you, because it's necessary to perform our contract;
- to run, secure and improve our website and business, which is in our legitimate interests;
- to keep financial records, because the law requires it.
We don't send marketing emails unless you've asked us to, and we never sell your information.
Cookies and analytics
This website doesn't use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and doesn't set any cookies of its own. Our fonts are served by Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google's servers and shares your IP address with Google when the page loads. If we ever add analytics or other cookies, we'll update this policy and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
Who we share it with
We only share your information with trusted service providers who help us run the business, and only so they can provide that service to us. They include our website host (Vercel), the service that receives our contact form (Supabase), our email delivery provider (Resend) and our email provider. Some of these providers may process data outside the UK; where they do, they're bound by appropriate safeguards such as the UK's International Data Transfer Agreement or standard contractual clauses.
We never sell or rent your personal information. We may disclose it if the law requires us to.
Our tools that connect to Google
We build internal reporting tools, such as our "Tatari Analytics" app, that connect to Google services using Google sign-in (OAuth). When you sign in and give permission, these tools:
- request read-only access to Google Analytics, Google Search Console and Google Ads data for accounts you control or have authorised us to work on;
- use that data only to produce reports and insights for you;
- store the data locally on our own secured device, not on public servers;
- never share, transfer or sell the data to third parties, except where needed to provide the reports to you or where required by law;
- never use the data for advertising, and never use it to develop, improve or train generalised AI or machine learning models.
Kingside Digital's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
You can revoke our access at any time from your Google Account at myaccount.google.com/permissions. You can also ask us to delete any data we hold from your Google accounts by emailing us.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry details for up to two years in case you'd like to pick the conversation back up, then delete them. Client and financial records are kept for six years after our work ends, as required for tax purposes. Data from connected Google accounts is kept only for as long as we're producing reports for you, and is deleted when you ask or when our work together ends.
Your rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, and to ask us to correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or transfer it to someone else. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. To make a request, email callum@kingside.digital. We'll respond within one month.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Keeping your information safe
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections, access controls and reputable service providers.

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated at the top.
